Hello there, I am recently new to the Frontier world and to say the least I already like my new 2016 Frontier that I just got. My question is simple. The truck didn't come with the power door lock option due to being the base model. Has anyone simply tried going to the dealer to get it added on by getting new remotes and having the BCM reconfigured? If so did it work or was it a bust? That's all I am wondering about. Thanks for your help whoever you may be.

I can't answer your question for sure, but Nissan is very good (bad) about making it difficult to add things on... wiring harnesses that you would think could be standardized by having the same wiring across all models, giving you a way to hook up things like power lock actuators without running new wiring, typically aren't there. I would certainly guess that the door lock actuators aren't in there. I guess it's cheaper to make different wiring harnesses, than it is to standardize.

Well that's better than no information at all. when I finally decide to get curious ill take a door panel out to see if the door latch has wires in it or not. if it does then it may be easy but if not then who knows.

Should be able to get a power lock conversion kit. The kit should be a direct bolt up. The only issue would be the door switches x2 doors & relays example - door automatically lock when driving. Shouldn't be a big deal to install a actuator and use a fob to operate the locks.

When you had the door panel off did you notice any wires ? Possible the vehicle has a security alarm sensor located inside the door, you can use it for a power source.
