So I'm looking to getting a D3 in the next 2 weeks. I'm curious what cameraalot of you purchased for the D3 & where it was installed. I have no ideawhere the stock one goes. I just looked at a Boyo license plate frame onebut I want to keep my current USMC frame.

So any ideas?

Also with the D3 can you watch it without being in reverse?

If you didn't want to change your entire license plate you may want to consider getting: http://www.crutchfield.com/App..._info

It's supposed to be very similar to the license plate one, but attaches to your current frame instead. From what I read boyo make some of the best rear view cams, and they're small which is a big plus when it comes to anti theft and such.

If you look at some of the pictures on cardomain of people that have the bigger rear view cams (such as the pioneer one), it's just a big cam sticking out in front of the license plate screaming "steal me". Well, that's what I worry about anyways.

Here's a couple of comparison pictures:Boyo cam: http://memimage.cardomain.net/...l.jpg

Pioneer cam (or similar):http://memimage.cardomain.net/...l.jpg

For me, the boyo one is pretty inconspicuous, while the pioneer one is right out there sticking out. I'd even be worried about just stupid kids at the mall or something trying to be 'cool' by damaging it or trying to rip it out.

I have the boyo camera... It is nice and very inconspicuous... Night vision is amazing ! And yes, with the avic d3 unit you can view behind you while driving forward!
