Hi, I am new to the forum & live in Australia. I have a 6/1996 Japanese built Nissan D21, Dual Cab, Z30e V6, Bull Bar, Sun Roof, Air Con, power windows all Nissan Factory fitted. Two tone paint, really dark green over a light gold.
My problem is the Tacho, it works when it want to. It works fine then starts jumping up & down & also does nothing if you tap the Instrument panel it might start to work, I have a friend who has a Pathfinder that does the same.
Does anybody have any ideas of the cause & can it be fixed.
regards to all.
Richard

Happens a lot to the D21 trucks over here too. It's electrical and the best bet is to open up the gauge cluster and replace the tachometer.

Hi, thanks for reply, had a feeling that might be the case , I was hoping it might have been a dry solder joint or something similar.
