I don't know if an adaptor has been made that will allow you attach the D21 Transfer case to that Infiniti transmission.

You could find a divorced T-case from a domestic vehicle or purchase an ATLAS (big bucks) T-Case and go that route.

I wonder if a Titan T-case would fit that Q45's transmission?

I do know that the VH45DE has been successfully transplanted into a Patrol.

Check the Q45 frum for info on adapter plates, I believe "John Dixon" has some info you might find useful.

Hope it happens - That'd be a BEAST!

The TX-10A is a married unit and has to have a 4wd transmission to mate to. 2wd trannies simply have a tail housing to insert a driveshaft into, so you'll have to figure something else out for the transfer case (or engineer a blocking plate that can convert the Nissan case to a divorced unit. You'd also likely have to move it back in the frame a bit.

A divorced unit, like Bigbird said, is the best bet. There weren't many divorced driver side output tcases made to my knowledge, but you can go with an aftermarket case such as an atlas. New driveshafts will be needed, as well as a short shaft to go from the transmission into the case.

This would be a really cool swap. All the wiring will have to come from the donor car, as will the ECU, etc. Making all your gauges, etc. work, and the AC, etc. will be the hardest part of the swap. You'll also need to upgrade the cooling system, as the HB radiator won't cut it for the V8.

The Q trans is merely a pathfinder trans with a 2wd tailshaft, computer controlled and a different bellhousing. All of the patrols that have had swaps just take off the tailshaft and apparently the t-case just bolts up. Not sure if internals have to be swapped but I haven't heard of it yet.

Patrols use a different Tcase though...it might be the same on the engine end, but the front output is to the passenger side on Patrols.

From what I've heard, all nissan 4x4 trucks use the TX-10 tcase.

AFAIK the trans is the same from tailshaft back (just unbolt tailhousing)RE40403a is a lot bigger than the RE401 or 403 they used in pathys or RB25 automatics.s (I know from seeing them side by side) but I've heard they bolt up. The trans behind the VH is every bit as heavy as an old school long tail TH400 so be prepared to grunt and grunt when you try to move that sucker around.
