I've got an add posted in the WTB section for several parts....
So I'm coming up dry on locating new original parts from various online sources. I did find a new set of center caps for the early style lego wheels (with molded in lug nuts) and a left side SE V6 tape stripe kit.
On ebay, there are a few sellers listing D21 parts such as 4x4 fender flares, splash guards, tape stripe kits, etc. Instead of the part photo, they have a line drawing schematic for the listing photo- if you're searching for parts, you may have seen these. I did "buy it now" on several of these items, and thought I had found a full SE V6 tape stripe kit for the 1986.5-1992 king cab 4x4. Totally pumped! But the seller contacted me to apologize that these parts were listed in error. I believe they are a reseller with access to Nissan parts through the dealer network, etc.
Also located a couple of websites that list all the original parts available for all D21 years. They have listed what is available and what is not. This is where I got the center caps. But same thing here with other parts like flares, etc. I thought I had located an original rear tube bumper with mounting kit for a king cab, but to no avail. These parts too were listed but not available.
I'm enjoying the search and would gladly post my sources, if that's within forum rules. If you've done your own searches, you probably know them anyway. Does anyone know how Nissan deals with obsolete parts? Do they continue to manufacture replacement parts for the D21? Any insight would be helpful.
