Hello,

I've run into a few problems with this Nissan D21 (the 2.4L engine) that I have currently sitting in the garage. I need to replace the part that eroded away completely that was on the positive terminal on the battery but I have no idea where I can find it or how I can fix this truck to get power to the engine.

Pictures are of the problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!

Welcome to this site. The terminals can be purchased at most parts stores, doesn't have to be a Nissan dealer. The kit contains the battery cable end and the end that crimps to the cable. I replaced one last week got the kit for $5.99. After replacing the end I always smear grease on the cable ends to prevent further corosion. I also spray the wire plugs with penetrating oil or a ignition sealer to prevent corosion. Most of the kits require a metric wrench to R and R the end.

upgrading to a sealed battery or gel battery (most parts store "platinum" batteries, Optima, Odyssey, etc) will prevent further corrsion going forward as well.

They cost a little more but they're worth it IMO to stop the corrosion and acid build up on the terminals.

And yes, you can get aftermarket clamps anywhere. Just be sure to clean up everything good and cut your existing cable as close to the OEM clamp as possible. Baking soda, water, and a wire brush will help clean up any remaining corrosion. Don't get that crap on your clothes.
