Possible?

This is a 1996 D21 Nissan hardbody truck my Dad and I own and the engine (KA24E) blew about a week ago. Since KA24E engines are rare to find I figure an SR20DE would be better. This is a 4x4 truck too so how would that work?

Would the 5spd transmission from the hardbody bolt to the SR20? What about engine mounts? We wanna keep it 4x4 too.

Have you tried the very useful "Search" button?

Yes I have and all I seem to find is 2wd info... Google returns the same results as well.

Right now I guess all I need to know is if the mount points will work and if the engine will mount to the 5spd thats already in the truck. If it won't I need to know if I get an SR20 with trans if that will mate to the transfer case. I found an RB swapped 4x4 D21 but that doesn't help me any LOL!

Yeah, don't just limit yourself to this forum; Nico has lots of info. You can search for a long time, and find alot as well.

I have found some info on just replacing the ka24e with a ka24de... So I think that may be a better solution and keeping with the 2.4L.

the mounting points are the same for the two engines and the transmission will work all you need is the sr bell housing
