[WTB] D21 4x4 Manual Transmission

My transmission s*** out on me this past week, can't get the truck into gear anymore. It's at a shop now and he thinks it's pretty well destroyed and told me to start looking for a replacement to drop in there.

So I guess, first and foremost, I'm looking for a 5-speed transmission/gearbox for an 89 D21 with a z24 engine. I've checked ebay and local craigs, not seeing much for 4x4 yet, so I have a few questions regarding this part.

Are there any other Nissan transmissions that may bolt up to a D21? Is it necessary to have a Z24 transmission, or would a KA24 transmission bolt up too?

I haven't had a chance to checked out any junkyards around here yet, how difficult is it to remove a transmission/gearbox with hand tools? No jacks in the yard either. Can the gearbox be pulled separately or removed from the bell housing? Or is it all one piece?
