As im getting more comfortable with my car...the stock ride is way too bouncy. I'm looking to maximize the ride quality and control of my s14. Now im stuck between two brands..

36way/D2 coilovers 895.00 shipped
32/Megan racing 899.00+ shipping

Any input or a write up on these? i prefer to hear more about the d2's..thanks

Why not spend 100 more and get the TEIN basics?

I would save about $400 & get Godspeeds. I've had both Megan and Godspeed - not too much of a difference. Either go cheap, or go top of the line three grand.

My friend has 8/6k D2s on his hatch but he has it slammed. Its stiff and a little bouncy but for its height its a straight ride. Then at the same time my friends brother has 9/7k D2s on his s14 with 18"s on low profile tires and its low but not slammed, and it rides smooth as hell. Im pretty sure with any coilovers its like that, but from what ive heard and can see, the D2s are pretty nice for the money and have a nice ride too.

The megans are probably about the same quality, but i would personally go with the D2's because they are purple... thats just me lol

But if you want to spend a little more, i would say get stance

I know the purple has me thinking haha. Alot of local heads have the Megan street's, thats one of the reasons why i want to go different. I want something that will LAST..

dude so many people have megans and there really isnt that much complaining so i would just go with them. i have them myself and i have no complaints so far, but they are also the only coilovers i have ever owned.
they also go pretty low too.

How's the camber adjustment on them? Do you ever go to the track with em?

Get some quality coilovers you won't have to worry about blowing. Why would you skimp on something so crucial. I suggest:

JIC
PBM
D-MAX

There are others too, but both PBM and DMAX are at decent prices, and now that JIC is going out of business, they should be cheaper too. JIC coils are fantastic, I have them.

Don't gamble with something like that. If you blow your coils, you'll end up spending more money in the long run.

Negative, ghostrider. I fully endorse PBM, JIC, DMax, Stance, Fortune Auto, etc.

Lol all these good reviews on Stance changed my mind. I'm going with Stance. Is there a noticable difference between the GR+ and the GR+pro's? What would you buy?

The pro's have helper springs in the back. If you think it's worth the 50 extra something dollars, then get those. You can always take them off. They, allegedly, make a smoother ride.

For like $1,000 + maybe $40-50 shipping, you can get Parts Shop Max coils.

For dding they SUCKED, was to rought, strictly track coilovers imo, and they blew after 15k miles so I dont think thats to good.

If I had to do it again id try pbm though

Understandable. I'm trying to figure out coils for my MX73 Cressida right now and the only proper option is the Stance-based SerialNine setup, but I don't want to have the same experiences you did.

Megan supposedly has something on the way, but they're taking their sweet time. I wish Max did MX73 shxts.

If you're worried about rough, PBM is NOT for you.
