D-21 expansion valve replacement

does anyone know how easy or hard it is to change the exp. valve i see it but have not started to tear into the dash yet , can the lower section of the a/c box be removed as it sets in the truck ? if so that is an easy one , i just dont want to tear out more or crack something if it is not needed thanks

I have just looked at this and this is what I found. remove the glove box first it is easy the pivots are held in by plastic pins that if you reach under the dash can be removed by spinning and pulling them out them the glove box pops out. The stops, just push in on plastic until they pop out. There is a plate with some screws just remove them and pull off plate and now you have full access to the box with the expansion valve, a few pop clips and you are in. The glove box is the trick open and look and you can see the hinge and the 2 plastic pins pop easy be careful not to pull and break the holes the pins are in.
