Finally received my part from Coz in the mail today, but it showed up in the package nicked and scratched. I'll still be installing and later re-anodizing the part. I'll be sending an email asking as to why it showed up looking used when I ordered a brand new part and at least for now i'll be hesitant in ordering from him until I receive and answer.

I'll be putting it in tomorrow and telling you guys the results of the Turn buckle brace. with before and after measurements of the flex.

If the scratches bother you, then you should send it back before you install it.

I'd like to know how this turns out.

Wow, that is nasty!
The one I got from them was nothing like that, it wasn't like show quality obviously but looked good and the threads were all good and clean.

I'm hoping to get out to the car tomorrow so I'll install it then and see how the flex has changed. I really like how this one looks so when I clean it up it should look good in place

Well I can't really test that part since it's up on stands until the salt is off the roads. I'll just be measuring deflection and pedal feel

As Oh Em Zee says you will feel it most on the road with the way you will have better pedal feel for hard stops and maneuvering when on the brakes in sweeping corners and twisties- on/off braking.
Not sure if you will notice it much without the brakes actually in use under load...but I know, ya gotta try it out! :chuckle:

I'm not even sure if I'll be prepping the car for this season or not. I'm using the parts car bumper, hatch, and t-tops which are Aztec red on a CRP ca, which will have a primer passenger door, driver side rear quarter, and above the windscreen. So I'm not sure If I want that rolling around with my name on it.

Just installed mine this weekend, and went to Nashville. I think it helped me avoid an accident. I literally had to re-learn the braking threshold before I left, and it has a huge amount more linear pedal feel, especially towards the traction limit.

But yeah, there was a crash on I65 North, and everyone slammed on their brakes at the last minute. I stopped just short of the guy in front of me cause he waited till the very last second and locked his brakes up. Smoke from the tires and everything. My lane stopped way before everyone else's lane too. Pretty sure the BMC brace helped me to avoid hitting that dumbass.

Note: He was in an SUV so I couldn't see around him.

I'll bet it helped. The braking limit is much more precise after the bracket is installed, keeping you closer to your traction limit.
Next time try to stay on the outside lanes so if someone locks up, you have the option to take a shoulder without checking other lanes for blind spots.

^^^Agreed, I have had to dodge into the HOV or shoulder twice in the past three years to avoid people who simply turn in front of you suddenly with no warning- usually SUV's, BIG trucks or minivans in their clueless little world.

Yeah, I usually travel in the far left lane (TN has huge shoulders on both sides) but my exit was coming up so I was starting to merge over. It's weird, usually crap like this doesn't happen here. Happened all the time in CA though... :tisk:

My CZP brace didn't quite fit, so the first time I tried to install it, I cross threaded the bolts, ended up stripping the threads in the Z and broke off the bolt heads because I over-torqued them (doesn't take much). :-\ I re-tapped the bolt holes and almost did it again! After looking at the brace, I noticed that the holes on the brace weren't far apart enough for me to install it smoothly, so I had re-drill the holes to make it fit. What should have taken 10 mins took me a lot more than that. :-( Anyway, after installing it, I noticed a huge difference. I installed SS lines, slotted rotors, and new pads not too long ago, and I think the BMC brace made more of a difference than the new brakes components!
