Cylinders 3 and 4 are doing nothing.

Ok, so I'm posting this for a friend who doesn't have internet access right now. Problem is just as the title states, ka24de is running on cylinders 1 and 2, but not 3 and 4. The engine shakes like crazy, and when you pull out the spark plug wires from cylinders 3 and 4 nothing changes. They put on new plugs, wires, injectors, everything. Injectors are putting out fuel, spark is happening, and compression is where it should be. What else could it be? Could somehow the timing be so horribly off that cylinders 3 and 4 just plain don't work? Thanks, this guy spun a rod bearing in his sr'd hatch so he really needs this car running.
