I already posted this in the wrong forum and tried to delete it to no avail, but I wanted to post here because it's more appropriate and I hope to get more suggestions...

Last year I had a problem with my 240 running rough, so I pulled out the distributor by accident (please don't ask) while replacing the distributor cap and rotor. After much screwing around, I finally got the timing right again, and all was fine. Fast forward to this year. I took the car out of storage, ran back and forth to work a few times in it, and the #1 cylinder started not firing. I pulled the plug, cleaned it up, and once back in the car ran fine. After a round trip to work (40 miles), it's doing it again, and the plug looks fine. So...

1) I popped the hood and pulled the wire on #1, and no difference, same on #2 and almost stalled out. So, #1 isn't firing.

2) I switched the #1 and #2 wires and #1 still didn't fire.

3) I switched the #1 and #2 plugs and #1 still didn't fire.

4) The distributor cap and rotor are basically new.

I'm figuring either there is no spark now to #1 (doubtful), I have a blocked fuel injector, or I have some other problem. I'm hoping you guys can give me a hand diagnosing/fixing this before I have to take it in to a shop.

Thanks.

try poping your hood at night(dark area) and see if you can se any spark leaking from the wires (or sometimes you can feel it heh). or try pulling the wire and putting it close to ground and crank the motor and see if you see spark jumping to ground. If you see spark jumping across the gap then try a comression check on #1 and see if you have compression and then check for fuel to that cyl if no compression. do in any order you like. hope this helps.
