my redtop isnt firing on the first cylinder. it has spark and fuel, ive swapped around both injectors and coils, checked voltage on both, and ive pulled both the fuel rail off to check injectors and the plug out with the coil and it has spark. i can unplug both and they do not affect the way the motor is running. its obviously missing, and its idling like crap. checked maf too. is the ecu messed up or is it something mechanical?

when its idling its really lean then when you get on it it goes rich. idk if you can tell or not but when i unplug the injector and coil on 1st cyl. it doesnt change but on the 2nd it does. also that sound thats like a vacuum leak is either coming from the fpr or the injector its hard to tell. the fpr works tho, its a nismo. its probably running a little rich for the fact that ive got the fuel pressure set at 40 with vacuum because at the right pressure it wont idle, it just dies

you say it has spark and fuel... do a compression test, if those numbers look good check all timing.

well i couldnt check timing and compression last night but im going to try to do it today. its hard to believe itd be either though, when you get it past idle and drive it down the street it runs pretty much normal and it has power. its not bogging down or anything. ive never owned an sr before, but my friend just bought one too and ive riden in his and it seems to have about the same power.

compression is 150 all the way across. but i think i mightve found the problem. it has the e5 ecu for the blacktop in it. the po mustve gotten the wrong ecu send to him. my friend has a 62 ecu im going to try on it and hopefully thatl fix my problem haha

Hopefully thats my issue.....I'm also using a redtop ECU but I have an S13 blacktop so I dont know if it matters any...I've used the ECU with this motor for a while before I parked the car without issues..

I'm being told it could be bad Valve seals..Hopefully not it because If I gotta pull that head off again im gonna be pissed off haha...

Gonna compression test it tommorow and see what I get...Anyways goodluck man..If I figure it out I'll be sure to post here!

yeah i guess the ecu's are interchangeable. i honestly dont know what else it could be besides the ecu being fried. i dont think its the wiring because its got power so its connected and the other three cyl. are firing correctly so wires arent mismatched.

I have no idea what it could be now.....So stumped..

FIXED! im dumb for not realizing this. the injector had a vacuum leak off the o ring because the rail wasnt seated down enough. i took the plastic spacer off and tightened it down and it runs perfect.

Nice man, Good for you!!

I tried that today and nothing changed..

I'm going to try stock injectors and a stock ECU this weekend....It wont run right at all because I'm running a Z32 maf and T3/T4 turbo but hopefully the miss goes away and I can start looking at a new ECU....

Well I figured my problem out....And yeah...Allot worse then a loose fuel rail lol

The rocker on the Intake side of #4 was floating around in there, And my guess is that it was because of the RAS...Theres a nick on the peice that is supposed to stop the rocker from floating...

Anyways...Luckily both shims where sitting inside the head beside the valve and nothing was damaged...Only the keeper on one valve was nicked up but I put it back together and the car runs perfect...

Hopefully everything is good!__________________
