Last night about a half hour after I had last used my Pathfinder I went to start it and it wouldn't start. I ended up leaving it for a few hours to go out for dinner and tried it again when I came back. It started up fine but the check engine light came on.
This morning I hooked up my code reader which gave me the code P0304 -Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor)

When I looked this code up on here it says that P0304 is a Cylinder 4 misfire detected.
Edited to add that there was another stored code. It's P0158 which is high voltage to the O2 sensor, Bank 2 sensor 2.

Can someone explain to me what happens next? Is this a spark plug issue or a bad gas issue or are there other possibilities? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for your help!

It's probably your ignition coil.

Thanks asnorton. Could be. I was leaning towards spark plugs because it happened to be a really wet day and I know that can cause them trouble. I'm going to test the ignition coil and see what I get.

A sinlge bad plug, wire or coil (multiple coil set up) would not cause your engine not start. It will still start but engine will run rough. A camshaft sensor would stop the engine from running if its not sending a signal, will crank but will not run.

Guys I was just thinking, wouldn't I get a code for a faulty camshaft sensor of faulty ignition coil?

jhong you were right. I misread the code and it's actually an 0340 which is for the cam shaft sensor. Problem is that I tested the sensor tonight and the ohmmeter reads fine so now I don't know what the issue is . My truck stalled while idling tonight and wouldn't start until an hour later after it had cooled off. Any ideas?

I would check the ignition module. They can test those in auto parts store. I have heard that those sometimes mallfuncion when it gets hot.
The camshaft sensor might do this as well , act fine when cold and stalls when it gets hot, I did have problem with my 05 altima with the cranskhaft sensor going bad on occasions but it was pretty common for those year altima for them to go out. It was a $40 part at the auto parts store.

Well we were all wrong. I took it in to have the sensor replaced and decided to get an oil change while I was there. As it turned out my truck was very low on oil and has leaks among other problems. There were a couple of other issues that were causing the stalling problems I was experiencing. I'll have the details tomorrow and will post.

Never thought low oil could cause a misfire , I have heard of overheating and locking up the engine but thats when no oil is left. Hopefully they are right so you can move on to repairing the problem.

I started my car today and it is running very ruff, the check engine light is on so i checked the code, cylinder 3 misfire I did a tune up at nissan'a request still nothing. The weird thing is when the "check engine" light stays on my car runs fine, when it blinks it runs like crap, whats going on clogged fuel injector maybe ? also when its cold it runs great when its warm it runs like crap and the "check engine light blinks the hole drive whats going on ?

A blinking SES light indicates cylinder misfires or other serious issues. Since you say you got a "tune up" at Nissan's request (where did you get this service? Nissan?) then I would guess your fluids are at nominal levels? Check your oil and coolant levels regardless. Does the water temperature gauge indicate hotter than normal temperature (e.g. the needle is higher than halfway?) Is cylinder 3 misfire the only code generated?
