So the old SR is running like a geo lately. Only 3 cylinders firing. The injector not firing seems to be the cause, since unplugging it while the car is running doesnt change the crappy idle.

I changed out the injector for a spare, no go. Swapped the injector for one from a running cylinder, still no go. Swapped ecu's, no go. They only code it threw was #54, "automatic transmission sensor" which makes sense because the spare was a 63.

So I figure I got a monkey in my harness. The injector plug has +12V, but its hot all the time (even w/ key off) is that weird?

The injector firing signal from the ecu would be a ground? So Im looking for a ground signal at the ecu on the injector wires in the harness?

check ur coil packs and see if ur getting spark. if u need i have 3 sr coil packs laying around.

lets say a coil pack is out and u have no spark. pulling the injector for that cylinder wont change it cuz it wasnt firing in the first place. if that is the case it had no spark, all u did was give it no fuel. therefore replacing the injector, and changing the ecu had no result.

good call. Ill pull the plug to see if its wet. Then swap coil packs and see what happens. Thanks!

edit: thats the ticket, dead coil
