Welcome to the NICOClub Rogue Forums joey123!
The transmission should completely drain out, all 9 quarts. Nissan does not list any special procedure to 'get all the fluid out', just drain the fluid and replace. Refer to the service manual here on PG
TM-158
Note: Nissan recommends a new drain plug gasket as well. Here are some part numbers for you:
- NS-2 fluid part no. 999MP-NS200P. Approx $15/qt.
- CVT drain pan plug gasket #11026-01M02
No kidding the fluid is expensive... $135 for 9 quarts!
Question... Why the urgency to replace the transmission fluid? Modern automatic and CVT transmission fluid lasts a VERY long time. My local dealership has only changed the CVT fluid on a small handful of vehicles since the first Nissan CVT came out in the 2003 Murano. Fluid changes are not very common.
