I did a search through the posts and still have some questions. First off, let me say that I've only owned automatic vehicles ranging from 1985-1992 so this CVT transmission car deal is all Greek to me.

I also don't have my manual on me at the moment, but have a few mins of downtime at work so I figured I'd ask, especially since I'm going to be driving 1700 miles this holiday weekend.

Is there a way to check the CVT fluid levels? I didn't see a dipstick in plain sight when I checked. Also, I've read some people saying to get it changed at 30k and others at 60k. I bought my car with 32k from a Nissan dealership so should I assume it was changed before they sold it? Finally, how much is it to get changed at the dealership?

Thanks.

There shouldn't be a need to check the CVT fluid level, because it is a contained unit and shouldn't lose fluid over time.

The Nissan dealership has the ability to check the fluid life, which varies based on conditions and driving style.

I was two quarts low on CVT (NS-2) after 56K miles. I had it topped off.

CVT section of the FSM covers how to check the CVT fluid level.

Cheers,
