Cvt trans issue

I start the car, put it on drive/reverse, it won’t move. I shift to neutral and shift back to drive/reverse, it moves. Anyone know the possible cause? 120,000 miles 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL is the vehicle. Thanks!

mac, they have a valve body where old-bad fluid may take time to "circulate" as you go through couple rounds of shifting - Get the fluid changed , & filter /screen too MINIMUM.

Long shot here, could be a simple shifter cable adjust issue.

Better hope the long fill time thing just mentioned is not indication of a worn out trans, it often is.

When was the last time you changed your CVT transmission fluid and what did you use?
