I just bought the 2003 FX35 sport package with 34k miles..

I'm thinking to change the tranny fluid on the car.. so, is it the CVT or a 4 spd ?which type of fluid I should get? please let me know..

Thank you

You have a 5 spd automatic. Regular auto trans fluid should work. You can ask an Infinity srevice dept to make sure even if you do your own work.

The FX does indeed use a 5 speed automatic common to the FM platform. This is the Jatco RE5R05A and uses Nissan Matic-S transmission fluid and nothing else. Damage can and does occur from using conventional fluid. If you are planning to drain and refill then you should get buy with 4 quarts but most dealers offer a full exchange using a dedicated Nissan Matic-S machine. This prevents possible contamination and is the proper way to perform this maintenance item.

It may cost a little more but the piece of mind and service records (in the unlikely event that something goes wrong) to get action from the dealer.
