cvt transmission noisy when cold

i am a new rogue owner (2009, three weeks old)...traded my o4 maxima se...the cvt transmission seems to be noisy when cold and while driving around town...i don't know if this is normal or what noises i should be listening for with this type of transmission...very different than the 5at in my max...thanks for any info on this...

Every transmission would make a noise when its cold but cvt probably makes a it a louder or in a different way so you trying to find as a problem. You have to let the car warm up even in a hot weather I guess for 10-15 sec before starting to move. Also a good thing for the car is to turn the key to ignition for about 3-4 sec before starting up the car so gas pump start working before engine starts.

I don't think the CVT transmission makes any abnormal noise at all. The noise you are describing is coming from the engine. Check our the LONG thread on the QR25 engine which is noisy when cold and under hard acceleration . The CVT in my experience is virtually silent, the engine is noisy.

thanks for the info, didn't know what i was hearing...coming from the v6 max to the i4 rogue may be the answer...i will check out the engine thread...
