I have an 08 hatchback with a cvt trans that just failed at only 160k miles. My question is does anyone know if you can swap it with a 4spd auto out of a 2010 or other year? Any help or suggestions would be great.

transmission swaps are going to be difficult. Not only is your ECM setup for a CVT, there's a strong liklihood the main wiring harness is too. Nissan has integrated many specific functions into the car at production and that means it's a royal PITA to alter your Versa in a significant way. My suggestion is to rebuild or replace your CVT and avoid all the headaches.

BTW- how did your CVT begin operating when it failed? Anything the rest of us can learn?

Thanks for the info. The trans slips to the point that it won't move. It whines like it's starving for oil. I haven't been able to find anyone who can work on them or even get internal parts.

AZHitman tried to swap a manual into a CVT Cube. Read about his pain.
