I have a 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback without ABS. I have noticed that every time after I brake really hard (such as during emergency braking) and especially if I brake to the point where one of the wheels start to slip a bit. Immediately afterwards the CVT tends to be stuck at a "high gear". Subsequent acceleration would produce little to no torque. It's almost like when you try to start your stick shift car in 4th gear.
The only way to have it downshift is to gently, and I meant gently press on the gas pedal. Then in about 10 seconds the transmission would downshift back to a lower gear.
This is a safety issue as I expect my transmission to automatically downshift at a stop.
I have 80K miles and I have the extended CVT warranty 10 years/100K miles.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have the non-ABS version and I wonder if wheel slippage might have confused the TCM.
