So I was taking a right turn at a stop sign and I put on the gas to give it a go, let off a little then gas again and my trans. slipped pretty good on me, I let off the gas, then it seemed to return to normal... Cause for alarm perhaps? I'm at 20k miles btw.

Were you in auto or manual mode? How did it sound and feel? Like for me, when I'm racing my bike at the track, when I'm going around a turn that I have to downshift to like 2nd gear and I'm powering through the turn all I hear is my engine revving up high but I'm not going any faster. Turns out my buddy behind me tells me that my tires are smoking and often drifting through the turn...oops

That's not normal. I received a cvt extended warranty notification. They double the warranty free of charge. So ... take it in and get it fixed

I was in auto mode... I turned the corner, gave it some gas then let off then gave it gas again then it had the same feeling as you mention with your bike... I've driven it some more tonight a good distance (45 mins) and nothing. Maybe it needed to get warmed up? haha... Since this happened shortly after I had left work and all.

i know its probably not but i got to ask anyway. was it the traction control kicking in? lol when it kicks in, it pretty much cuts the cars power (even if you keep your foot on the gas).

You know, it might have been actually. I've been trying to replicate this happening again (even from cold start) and it hasn't... It only happened when I was making a hard turn, hitting the gas, then letting off and hitting it again so maybe it was the TCS.

When the TCS kicks on, it flashes a yellow/orange warning light on the instrument panel. When the TCS kicks in, it takes power away from the car. Like hitting the accelerator pedal, and nothing happens. When the cvt is going out, it will happen going around a corner, or from a dead stop. The transmission will feel like it jerks. Kinda like driving a manual, pushing in the clutch pedal, hitting the accelerator in a bit, and dropping the clutch again. That kinda jerk. I would take it into Nissan ASAP before that thing leaves you on the side of the road.

I guess I should de bully doggy my car before I do, I have a feeling they'll b**** about that.

Although I will say I wasn't paying attention to the panel there so I can't remember if the light had popped on or not.

take it around the corner or something and see. make sure traction control is on, floor the gas from a stop and TCS should kick in. when TCS kicks in, a little yellow/orangish light that says "slip" will show up.

When mine started to fail, the CVT slipped and the SLIP light came on permanently

Well, I went in to service my car and they did a full checkup, everything is good, it looks like it was the TCS after all.

You guys sure it's the TCS? I've had it engage when making a sharp hard turn under power, but that ALWAYS causes the computer to blip the throttle to prevent wheel spin and you can tell it's the TCS system doing that, while my foot is still on the gas...the light flashes too.

If the slippage happened while you could hear the engine still revving continuously during that time - that is not TCS I think, so who knows.

It happened again, twice in the same night here. I was actually trying to do some performance testing with my Bullydog turner, 0-60 times and such and I punched it and around 40-50 all I felt was kind of a drop in speed while still revving. I'd lift my foot up and it'd go down in speed more, put my foot back on the gas and it'd go a little more while still having the feeling of it dropping.

Then I did it again, going normal speed to 20ish then hitting the gas, letting off and hitting the gas again and the same thing as above happened. So I'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow and talking to them.

The only other thing I could think of is that could this be something to do with the +timing feature that Bullydog has? I have it set for +2 and I began to think that this wasn't happening prior to having it set at +2. Thoughts?
