Horrible noise of metal bashing when CVT locked op and caused me to screech to a stop. The warning was a few small lurches on acceleration.
Just sent to Dealer.. still under 10 year 120,000 mile warrantee.

We will see.. It was quite hairy of a ride though.. sounded like the whole belly of the car let loose.

Any of you with a similar experience??

Damn that sucks. I wonder if your timing chain broke. At least it's still under warranty. How many miles do you have?

64,000 miles.. engine runs fine- rolls real stiff but without noise ( pushed) Towtruck guy sez when they go like that is is like a grenade and the inside is just tore up parts since it beat itself up. The manual sez powertrain extension is covered 10 years to 120,000 miles.

Man, that stinks. I have the 2014 Rogue, but my wife drive a 2011 Maxima that is up to 54,000 miles. I'm getting really nervous/paranoid about going over 60k. The SES light came on intermittently for about a month earlier this summer. My mechanic pulled the code and it was a P0101 - Mass or volume air flow. But, the light has been off for about three weeks now. We're not in a great position to trade...so I'm still trying to decide what to do.

The news...

The transmission exploded inside...all kinds of metal broken....under warrantee

Both front axles damaged by water leaking past bad boots.. replacement- 400.00 parts at discount..

Towing reimbursement- special LONG form to Nissan. I can tell this will take a while..

Time--- a full week to repair.

i wouldn't pay a penny for the axles. tell them if it takes getting the media involved = you'll do it. the internet is FILLED with transmission problems. its such a problem they extended the warranty!! there's enough proof right there.
