All the info ive tead says, to replace cvt fluid, you have to drain from cooler lines & replace until new fluid runs out, when i looked under my car, i see a drain plug in the pan, i thought the 2012's did not come with a drain plug in the cvt pan, i guess my question is, can i go ahead & drain from there & avoid the cooler line procedure??

I think if you just use drain plug you wont end up replacing much of the fluid.

On my 2011 V6 i had my wife start the car until 2 qts drained, had her shut it off, then I filled with 2 quarts until the fluid looked clearish. Save a small sample of the first batch you drain for comparison before dumping it in the collection pan, i didn't do that and wish I had.

I changed the fluid, which was very dark, with a burnt smell, but i still have the loud whining sound, especially when accelerating, i think there may ,be a more serious issue with the transmission itself, we live on the new jersey shore, havent the slightest idea of who would be the best shop to bring it to, anyone have any ideas?
