Well for the past year or so I thought the CVT transmission fluid was to be changed every 50k miles or so, according to another thread it's every 30k.
Now, I am at about 35k now and I figure this to be the underlying issue of my manual mode transmission problems lately. When I shift (in manual mode) there is a cracking/popping sound coming from under the car. Also while downshifting my car makes a weird noise (as if it's electric or something). Now I am going to be laying real low on driving my car after this weekend because I don't want any damage to my transmission.
My question is, since I have recently installed headers and have the Injen intake. Should I switch back to stock before taking my car in ??? I'm not sure if my car is still under warranty but I doubt it is (last year, early this year Nissan kept calling to warn me about it's expiration). If it's not I shouldn't have to worry about them voiding anything right... Do you guys think it's safe to take my car in at it's current state, or should I switch back to stock before taking it in ??? I don't want to go to another mechanic in fear of the wrong fluid or something happening to my transmission, I want to know it's done right, with the right oils.
Also, if anyone can list the prices they have paid for this oil change that would be wonderful, I've heard of prices for the oil and prices of labor, but not from anyone who has actually had it done.
Thanks in advance
edit: sorry for the duplicate thread title from the other thread discussing the cvt fluid, I wasn't sure what it was named, and please don't think of this as a repost. I would like to know if I should go back to stock or not and warranty information on the matter
