in the service manual it says to change it at 30,000 miles but many people claim it can last longer. I talked with the lady at the dealership and she said its better to do it sooner but it lasts a lot longer then 30k. I'm at 30,500 miles now and plan to change it in a couple months or something (when ever I get a chance). I THINK she said it was $160 at my dealership but i'm not 100% sure.

The CVT fluid does NOT need to be changed at 30k. The fluid is actually designed to withstand going over 100k miles (under ideal conditions...).

The Nissan tech's have a diagnostic tool that can be plugged into the transmission which yields a "degridation" number - aka, whether or not it needs to be changed.

At 30k, the service department should do the reading, and if the fluid is beyond the threshold (I don't have the numbers right now), it should be changed. Otherwise, you should wait again until around 45k to do the diagnostic again. If still ok, then do a certian change at 60k.

Nissan extended the warranty to 200k/km and since Nissan Service tells me not to change it, I'll leave it alone.
