Did anybody change cvt fluid change at dealer? How much is it? What was the mileage?

What is the antifreeze life? 3 years or 50k miles? How much dealer charge it for it?

Thanks.

Most people say that anti-freeze is something that should be changed every year or every other year.

CVT fluid costs a boat load to have changed - before having it changed, ask your dealer to run a diagnostic on the fluid, and they can tell you if it needs changing - the fluid was designed to go over 75000 miles, but some people's could break down faster depending on the use of the car, conditions, etc...changing the fluid is several hundred dollars at the dealer because of the labor and the fact that the fluid is anywhere between 10-20 a quart.

so did anybody change their antifeeze at dealer? how much dealer charge for this kind of service?CVT probably is made to last. But it's like first engine oil change. It has to be done right and at right time. At 75k it can be to late. I'm planing to change mine at 35-40k miles.

I owned an audi before. They were saying that it's a lifetime fluid. I bought an audi with a little bit over 100k miles. I went to my mechanic and he drained the fluid, took the transmission pan down. There were a bunch of metal powder around the magnet and other patina on transmission pan. Obviosly fluid never been changed since day car was built. Most of the scrap in transmission was produced in first 50k miles.

I'm pretty sure that every manufacture tries to prolong the the actual service intervals. They give you 60k miles warranty. It'll work with no problem and customer should not worry about high-price service. After 60k miles they dont care.
