what ever you do, DO NOT RACE THE SRT-4 FROM A ROLL!!!! lol i heard CVT gets a little slower once you hit 90 mph (the ECU doesn't allow full throttle or something) which is the reason why i still haven't hit 100 mph at the finish line yet lol SRT-4's have amazing top end.....

this is a older video of me and my friend's SRT-4 racing on an old country road.... he sorta jumped the gun (wanted me to go in manual mode because "D" is alot faster with CVT). he jumped the gun and then i started catching up, caught all the way up and was just about to beat him and then i hit about 90-100 MPH and then he just smoked my ***.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-rF8ZgF5rCE

and for the person that asked about my little trick, heres a video that sorta shows it

http://youtube.com/watch?v=WIZvwR_eahY

i only ran a 14.4 before i unbolted the cat-back (with luck and practice maybe a 14.3). my car is 100% stock, stock rims,, stock tires, stock intake, non-synthetic regular oil, regular 91 oct gas. after unbolting the cat-back i got pretty much the lowest 13.9 you can get, really close to a 13.8. to take off the cat-back for the 1st time you need a air gun, those 2 bolts wont come off with just a wrench. after that i tightend them with a wrench so it's 100% closed but when i want to go to the track i just take off the 2 bolts in less then 5 min with a wrench.

i did a little burn out (couldn't really burn out too much) and then when i launched it i stepped on the brake and the gas to build up the RPMs then right before the light turned green i took my foot off the brake (by the time your brain sends the signal to your foot to go, it's already green). i got a little screech from the tires 1 time but nothing insane.... with better tires (i have the stock tires) you could probably hit a 13.8.

lol my friend always lags on the vids! he said he's upload them last night, then today around 10 am, now he's saying for sure at 4-5 pm..... so we'll see. he left early though so the only vid we got on film was me and him when i ran a 14.0.... which a 13.9 isn't too far off

I will beat him in a 1/4 mile simply because of my launch. My coupe before intake, exhaust and tires 14.12 @98ish his 14.24 @103mph. His problem has do to high gearing and the turbo surging power while trying to control traction, either that or I give nissan a big plus for its design of the half shafts and controlling torque steer. For those who don't know once one wheel starts spinning, you're automatically losing traction with a one leg 60ft time. Now from a 30mph roll I can't catch him.

My only tip is not to look into power to weight ratios and things like that too much when comparing cars. I'm not pushing anymore than 230whp on the dyno jet and I know for a fact my friends tC is over 250whp/255lb torque, with a very strong midrange power curve . While my car is also 200+ lbs heavier.
what kind of car are you driving again, a sedan or coupe? and is it cvt or 6mt?

you have a pretty good time, 14.12 @ 98mph is one the highest ive seen so far.

no i didn't get a chance too.... when i race my friend's SRT-4 i usually lose in manual mode and win in "D" and it seems a lot faster so i haven't tried it yet. maybe next time i go.... didn't bring a helmet plus i was feeling sick so i couldn't stay too long

Its that Muslim ingenuity that let you get those times! (and your own wits lol)

Maybe manual mode should just be left for launching or getting your rpm's up quickly.

One more q, how old do you have to be to go to the track? (I'm 17)

lol i didn't get exhaust yet and i was talking to one of my friend's that has a trans am and he mentioned that on the trans am you can unbolt it and then i remembered people doing it with the stillen and Nismo exhaust so i decided to check it out lol i think you just have to be 16 with a license to run..... i'm not exactly sure but the track is open on Wednesdays (over here) and when they're not having events they call it high school something..... i guess an attempt to get racing off the streets and on the track

lol ya i posted about exhaust cut outs a while back and pretty much everyone just ignored it.... it's a pretty good idea though. i mean unbolting the cat-back made my car 1/2 a sec quicker lol

My bad man, I did have my Pirelli PZero Nero's on with the 19" 5Zigen 5ZR…. Stuck the launch. Didn't have the intake or exhaust though so getting pretty eager to go back but going to wait for a set of headers.

maybe mid 15's?If tuners will actaully tune the QR crippled ECU it could do a lot better, probably shave a whole second off because the 2.5 is much lighter than the 3.5

my mom had a 2005 altima 2.5s and it did i think 16.2.... it was also stick shift (i don't know if yours is stick or CVT). if done right you'd probably break into the 15's. not sure how accurate those numbers are because i'm comparing it to a 2005 2.5s.

2.5 cvt with fujita and nismo catback... I googled qr25 ecu and see the masses who are upset about no flashing yet... im sure that would unleash a lot more juice...

I don't say "hella" and I'm in Cali. If your friend doesn't want people talking bad about his car, why doesn't he disable comments on youtube?

LOL I remember the other videos he posted, I commented on them and he got pissed at me. Your friend sounds overly sensitive, but then again it is his car. I love the video description, "... and he knows damn well my car is faster on the street.....".

ya i think he is going to disable the commenting thing..... lol ya he does sometimes get sensitive about it..... well, a stock SRT-4 with a good driver can do 13.9 and he even claims a guy in the SRT forums did a 13.6 with a stock SRT-4....... he has full exhaust system, blow off valve, intake, waste gate (he can turn up the boost), it's a stage 1 SRT-4, etc if he could drive it 100% correctly, he MIGHT be able to break into the 12's with it..... his best time was a 14.0 though.

can't wait to see what my car could hit with a tune.... at 90 MPH it doesn't allow full throttle so at the end CVT cars slow down (stick shift keeps going) so with a tune, just taking out that feature would hella improve the 1/4 mile, plus all the other stuff a reflash does.

all i can say is that any reaction time under .500 is pretty damn good. i wonder what a 6MT might clock in at??? hmmmm.....

ya that's why you're actually supposed to try and go right before the green light and by the time you react it's already green. my best reaction time that night was a .069 but i only ran a 14.1. that's a good *** reaction time, i didn't even look at that (saw a 14.1 compared to the 13.9 and didn't pay too much attention). .069 is HELLA GOOD! like almost jumping the gun lol when i went with my brother and was talking to all the corvette guys they said that when you see the last yellow light, blink your eyes and then take off. by the time you blink your eyes and then try to react, the light will just be turning green
