Hi
This an auto 2008, the transmission shifts good by hand, the shift control cable seems like it doesn't put enough pressure to go thru the gears. Is there a sensor or code that might be keeping the trans or cable from working????
The dealer says that the trans is bad, but it shifts and holds gears like is suppose to....
Any ideas....?

It could be anything, however, with the CVT, dealers simply replace components opposed to fixing them. Due to the nature of how the CVT works. Is your car within the 120k miles CVT warranty coverage terms? If it is, just get the CVT replaced. If you're out of warranty you could request a "good will" extended coverage if you're vehicle has less than 150k miles on the original transmission.

Yikes, you're SOL. :yesnod You're going to have to take the hit one way or another. The cost to replace the transmission will be steep. You could also attempt to trade the car in at a major loss too.
