okay it acted weird today....here it goes

At about 25 just cruising along and if i accelerate to 30-35 the rpms go up to about 2700-3000, then i release back to where i was holding the pedal to go 25, the rpms drop to 1000, then go back up to about 1500ish. i dont know why its droping low then going back up without releasing the pedal all the way.

another thing. sometimes while im driving it seems like if you let off the gas that the transmission completely disengauges. and you start slowing down faster. kinda like a cintrifigul clutch.

other times it is the exact opposite. i was going 25 and when you let off the gas coasting it goes to around 1000rmp, well it only to 1250ish and kept going at 25 til i slowed down myself. did this for over half mile....

anyone have similar problems? weather here is 75-80 right now

Wierdest thing i've ever had related to the trans was once when it slipped on me on a wet road and ran up to 4k rpms and wouldnt come back down until I completley let off the gas *shrug* Id say get the dealer to check it out

CVT < AUTOMATIC

I've worried about them putting CVTs in these cars... I've heard some people having issues with their muranos... new technology...

Ya, in 03-05 Muranos around 80k miles, they all seem to have the same trending transmission failures. Its usually a stammer when you try to accelerate your car from a stop. Then the transmission goes into a defense mode and only allows you to accelerate to 15 mph, VERY slowly. About 15 mph in 10-12 seconds. Also, the transmission will jump rpms while just crusing down the road. Sudden jumps of 1-2k rpms from its consistant rpm is most likely. Its a pressure solenoid inside the CVT that fails under certain high heat situations. The fix has always been a CVT replacement

Here is a list of THOUSANDS of Murano owners that have had this particular failure. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.c...968/0
