I have a 96 Maxima with automatic transmission and needs to replace the passenger side CV axle, however, there are many options to selection from when I look into purchasing the axle from Autozone. How do I know which options to pick or where can I find the information.

there is a code on a plaque on the fire wall that has info on transmission, i believe if it ends in a V, the you have and LSD. If not, then you don't. Thats the only info you'll need to give the guy at auto zone. Everything else they can look up for you.

i think you probably don't have anti-lock brakes
my 95 doesn't and my 98 doesn't
Get them to look at your master cylinder-lots of steel tubing out of it lends evidence toward anti-lock
from what i remember you can use lsd and if you don't have lsd it won't matter
Try Oreilleys as another parts supplier-my experience with them is better as they seem to hire ex-mechanics more often than needy ex burger flippers

And when you get it be sure to compare it to your existing one for length
at oreilly's there was a $10 difference between rebuilt and new so I chose new
Be sure to take the shaft out carefully and not tear up the transmission seal
