CV axle replace or boot replace

I haven't done it but my dad just did his Subaru Legacy...and based on that job, no thanks. I'll likely pay someone to do it, and as many of you know, I'm a DIY'er lol. He had a tough time with his as his axle wouldn't come out of the hub.

got a reman front passenger side axle from true part out of Hollis New York. Initial inspection looks good and sturdy. All clamps and boots are new so looking forward to replace this once it stops icing and cold. Ooh how i wish i have access to a garage :D
