My springs lowered my car 1, 3/4". Eibach is full of sh**. Anyway another 1/2" or so would be nice, so has anyone ever cut off the top coil to achieve this? I have access to anything to do this the "right" way, including a belt sander to grind the top coil flat on the rear. Just wanted to see if this will work since the top coils are all touching at the present ride height. Justin. Yes I searched.

Thats all they are supposed to drop it.

I would cut it if I wanted to though.

give it a 1000 miles or so, they'll "settle" from what i've heard n it'll keep dropping a slight bit

you can cut coil springs but i would recommend geting a shorter length strut so you dont bounce out a spring over an unintentional hard bump. or you could find a good machine shop and have them cut the top of the tower to your desired length and re cut and thread the top of the strut to bolt in.

The only thing i'm worried about is that they are progressive springs. Something linear would be better to cut (IE the stock ones)

If you want them lower why didn't you just buy the Eibach sportline springs?

I thought the pro kit was a 1.8/1.6" drop. I found out later through the posts that everyone has had the same results with these springs. I'm going for handling not looks but an extra 1/2" or so would help the appearance. I think the front would possibly drop too much considering the short travel of the strut. My best option would of course involve getting different springs, but I just spent over $200 on these because the sportlines weren't available through our W/S distributor. Oh well, live and learn. I have read two separate posts with two different answers, what is the factory spring rate? I've heard the factory springs are real similar to the pro-kit. Progressive/ linear rate isn't an issue with such a short shock travel and good shocks and sway bars. Thanks

I have to go with IneedMoney on this one. Just sell those and get the sportlines.

PROGRESSIVE spring rate, how much stiffer, if any, are the pro-kit over factory?
