Is it possible to just shave off 1 MM of thickness on the front swaybar or the non HICAS or Active Suspension model Q45?

I ask because I can't justify buying and installing a bar because of 1 MM thickness.

And is it possible to make the rear OEM Q45a bar adjustable?

Study the shape of the oem bars you will see you will have to redesign the way the bar attaches thru a link to the suspension lower arm.

Not an easy task to make adjustable.

I spend years trying to develop a reliable method to disconnect the Q rear bar in wet and snowy weather. Research the BMW patent they used on 745 to tie the rear bar stiffness to the windshield wiper speed.

The calculations have already been made that the 24 mm solid rear is too stiff and 20mm hollow oem is too soft so 22 mm is ideal [90-110 pounds per inch]wheel rate.

There are historical rules which state that the bar should be less than the springs [123 pounds/inch] to avoid overwhelming the shock absorbers and creating uncontrollable oscillations under certain rapid back and forth road transistions.

ALWAYS remember the bars and springs are in parallel when turning but decoupled going straight, acel, and braking.

OK so can you please give me your opinion of my suspesnion setup:

Tokico blues all around, OEM Springs, 29 MM front sway bar OEM bushings, Front shock tower bar, Soon to have a rear sway bar with poly urethane bushings, Anything else I missed is OEM.

So according to you the rear bar would be almost equal to a 21-22 MM bar with the poly urethane bushings. But the front bar would still be taking more of the beating because it is thicker.

I don't see anything about cutting thes shaving the bar, does that mean its so insane that you would rather just no respond?

And from what I have heard from you about BMW...Well they are just out of Infiniti's league, Man are they super smart.

and as for snow or winter driving I think I will just take it easy or keep TCS on.
