I cannot believe that all the local autoparts stores no longer cut rotors. How do they expect to sell brake pads when you cannot get the whole kit an kaboodle?

Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

I know it says tampa, but I am 45 min north of there and the Discount Auto Parts stores were bought out bu Advance Auto PArts and the Autozone stores just do not do it.

I will check with NAPA and CarQuest but may have to go to a local shop and pay for it there.

Why are they doing this, is it liability? I will take my business elsewhere. Do they just want to sell new rotors?

Man this is frustrating

My guess is it's a profitability issue. The machine probably costs $2-3k, but the real problem is labor. The local Pep Boys here charge $8/rotor (recently increased from $6/rotor), and it probably takes the guy 15 minutes each. That's less than half what their normal labor rate is.

I payed 9 per rotor last time

Thay had the machine and it was an outomatic type so there was no one needed to watch it.

I would pay twice that. Always been a fanatic about rotors since I owned my first honda (always warped when you looked at them wrong)

I guess i just need to make friends in the local shop.
