cutting brake lines!?!?!?

how can i join one end to another....basically repair a brake line...METAL line underneith the car...can i use some automotive rubber hose and clamp each side....what options do i have....

I would think that it would have to be welded??? Not to sure but i dont think that a hose and a clamp will do it.
