Nope, the ECM queries that transceiver ring to verify the taped up key in place there or your other key you use, with the transceiver disabled the car will immediately not start as the ECM cannot verify the proper keycode. As it is now, with the spare key in place it's already 'defeated', you only need take your own key to get another 'valet' key (one without a chip in it) cut to then use it to start the car and at a cost of like $3-$4 instead of having to get another cut at the whopping prices they want for fully coded keys.
In other words, you're already where you want to be. Keep the doors locked and your mouth closed though, all someone needs to do is to get inside the car to steal it...................
