In my search for a decent sr20det motorset withing a 300 mile radius of me (I'd rather not have it shipped), I located a few in PA. I emailed the person selling the motorsets, and they seem to be pretty good except they have a cut wire harness. From what they tell me, the harness is cut at the firewall and according to them, this is not a problem since the wires have to be extended there anyway (one even said "...cut at the firewall for your convienience"..suspicious?). However, I have heard that a harness cut at the firewall is the worst place to have it cut (I know harnesses are usually cut there anyway). A cut harness in general isn't too much a problem for me becuase I know someone who is very confident with the sr20 harness details, border line OCD in fact..lol. But I would just like to know if they are giving me false information. These motors are being sold by a private owner rather than a shop, so I can't really gauge confidence based on reputation. Can anyone please give me a definitive answer to this? Thanks.

go over to the CA forum and ask slw240sx. He has been fighting tooth and nail with repairing a cut harness on his CA. It may cost a little to get the whole thing WITH COMPUTER but you save yourself a lot of headache. I don't know how the stateside guys are selling them but the ones I send have all the sensors plugged in including the computer. I also cut the wire bundle that goes to the body harness in such a way that enough wire is left to get it spliced to the 240 body."Cut at the firewall for your convenience", nice.:chainsaw
