I was wondering has anyone cut their stock springs? If so how many coils in the front and back for about a 2.5 to 3 inch drop. I don't car about shocks and ride quality. This car is my ghetto drift car on a "no money" budget. I've already had the diff. welded. So I'm on my way to being "ghetto-fabulous"

cutting springs wont help you drift. just leave the springs alone or save up and replace them with decent springs.

cutting springs is pretty dangerous too, hard cornering or bumps could make you bounce off the bump-stops and fling the car around in unpredictable ways. just get some cheap lowering springs off ebay if you want to lower your car. or like marcus said, just leave em alone.

No, please don't do this, it's a really bad idea.

there's a right way to do it, but you probably won't get your answer here. Try grassroots motors forums or something more technical out there. I also hear the drop can't be as much as you want it either...

ur just going to sit lower, its not even going to stiffen the ride. when u cut away coils, your just reducing your spring rate. so if u do it, prepare to bottom out and kiss your oil pan good bye.

Its not that bad. drifting on cut springs is more predictable than stock. I know from experience with a friends car. I don't think you want a ghetto drift car in the middle of winter too. More clearance the better for winter.

one of my friends cut the springs on an old car of his, but that was the same car that was spraypainted in a camo scheme... it was cool though cause he shaved the door handle and wired the latch to the folding mirror! push the mirror back, the door opens. lol, sorry, random story

does replacing the stock sized filter with a 300zx fuel filter on a 240 really give more horsepower? i coincidentally just got back inside from my garage where i did just that to my 240, but wasn't aware that it might add power.

No, not really. Its bigger than the stock one and it was the same price.

Just lets fuel flow a little better than the stock filter.
