I have been trying to disconnect the rear motor mount plug for about an hour. It seems to be melted or some how stuck together. Can I cut these wires without efffecting anything else? I am going to disconnect them any way. This is what cause my ACLV and subsequently my ECM to short out. The dealer quoted me $2,000 to replace the ECM and ACLV. I had no problem with the front motor mount plug.

Also, can anyone tell me how to disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body.

I didn't mention that it is an 2001 Maxima GLE and I have unplugged the battery and removed ECM.

Thanks for answers.

I think you are referring to the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve). The IACV Stepper Motor and the Engine Mount Actuator have separate drivers (power amplifiers) inside the ECM and either one, when defective (short circuit) will 'fry' the ECM. The replacement ECM needs reprogramming at the dealership (@ $100) and you have to bring all your keys (NATS keys).

If the engine mount connector has melted, you can cut the wires (ensure battery is disconnected) and then put END-CAPS on the powered side of the wires (from ECM side). If you don't put end-caps or insulate the exposed wires, you can have another short circuit and fry the new ECM.

As for the throttle cable disconnection, rotate the throttle lever/linkage until you can pass the cable end thru a slot on the throttle lever.
