Hey, man. Welcome to the site! Everyone has ideas, and a good majority of them have posted them to this site and a few have given how-tos. So, your best bet to find ideas is to just dig through lots of past forums. It helped me with a few ideas.

Also, it helps knowing what you want to do with your truck. Do you plan on going offroad? is your pathy 4x4? what would you get out of it by lifting it? Or do you plan on making it showy? Only you know what you want. So, go with your gut.

A couple good ideas, start here:

Cabin air filter zer...53195

Throttle Body Cleaning zer...88876

Change the Fuel Filter zer...r-r50

Tweeter Mod zer...r-mod

Changing Window/lock LEDs zer...-leds

Changing Dash Lights zer...ights

Change Cigarette lighter/Defroster lights zer...wleds

Change Clock/HVAC/Temp display color zer...56288

Ok, that's all for now. There is loads of info on this site to take advantage of.

theres no such thing as a XE modelfor the R50 style pathfinder.anyway, if your tight on money the street look is the rout, a set of decent cheap rims and tires from your local town fair tire wont be too expensive, and with the tint and rims it wud already have that street look. lifting is way more expensive, the parts, andlabor costs if you dont put it in yourself, the extra wear and tear from the truk NOT being the stock height anymore will run you more moeny, especially if its nearing like the 75 to 80 thousand mile mark. persoanlly for yours id go with tinted tail lights and headlights, some nice metalic black rims, like anice 6 spoke design, and for about a thousand buks or less your done. lifting means u gotta get bigger tires and rims, along with a list of other shyt. funny im sayin not to lift it when i just spent 3 grand on liftin my 03pathy hua? haha

well the only reason i considered lifting it was because of mudfest and i know some crazy trails up in NC, but what do you think i should do about the rims cuz i like big rims, my bro has 4's but i would only go with 18's on here. give me some detail on the interior, and lights/neon.

There actually is an XE Pathfinder in the R50, they are extremely rare in the US tho (I didn't know they existed until about two months ago). The XE model is a completely stripped down model (they sold the XE as the Chilkoot in Canada) and came standard without fog lights, roof rack, fender flares or side steps; I also think the XE came standard with the M/T. The XE became more available and more popular in the R51's. I've never actually met someone who owned an R50 XE.

Here's a 2001 XE Pathfinder...

That's the end of my thread jack.

well pwnin, i stand corrected. lol and dam that is like the basemodel of the base model of the prototype. haha. guess i shud feel special wit my SE, actaully if i had leather seats nd auto4wd, along wit the 17's id have an LE. i have the compass and computerized climate control and the bose radio all factory, which i guess not all SE's came wit.

well lemme stop thread jacking...oops,heres my laundry list....-2 inch coil lift w/ rancho struts and rs9000xl shocks-procomp 16 inch steel wheels w/ mastercraft courser CT 267/75/16 tires-black brush guard, tail light guard, removed running boards-blacked out headlights and corners, altezza tail lights(night shaded wiked dark)-8000K headlight bixenon conversion -8000K fog light conversion-custom fit lights in replace of red reflectors in rear bumper, used as reverse lights-replaced stock battery w/ xstatic batcap 2000-rockford fosgate RFX 9420 radio head unit(discontinued)-Boston acoustic Pro series front speakers-2 eclipse 6210 (aluminum series 12's)-G-Force 116 4.5 cubic foot ported box-rockford fosgate 10 farad hybrid capacitor-rockford fosgate limited 25th anniversary Power 1000 amp (25 To Life) #1217 of 2500-complete conversion to blue led's inside, dash, instrument cluster, climate control, dome light, etc.

and this list will only get longer. honestly man the skys the limit with these trukcs, what makes them so fun is that there ARE NOT a million of them running around with mods. its not like an f150 or a silverado 1500, where u can get anything under the sun for anymod u want to do. the pathy is different, and half the fun of modding it is knowing its different and it stands out, gives u a lil sense of pride. haha there are guys on here like EmptyV who has done some real cool things to his QX4,or WOT who has to have the most insanely loud sound system u've ever seen.

dont be affraid to ask any questions or give opinions, 95% of the people on here are very cool and are always willing to help and give advise, the other 5% consist of the ***holes and retards. if your interested in liftin then look at this site.... https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/index.phpoffers alot of cool products. good luck dude, and have fun with yur pathy.

p.s. nala.......i know some1 said it in another thread....but those arent "audi" led's, audi didnt start that they are just the most popular cars with them, and they are led strips u can get anywhere, they look good....but stop calling them "audi" led's

Are you talking a complete sound system? That would include a head unit, door speakers, door speaker amplifier, subwoofer, subwoofer box and subwoofer amplifier (and all the necessary wiring). You won't get too much for under a grand if you want to get all of that stuff. I would suggest starting with the head unit and working your way back. Do you have the Bose system? If so, then you will need to replace the door speakers at the same time you install a head unit. A new head unit and some door speakers and an amplifier for the door speakers should eat up a grand pretty quickly. If you don't have the Bose system, then your best bet is to go with a new head unit and a sub amp, box and subwoofer to get some low end bass. The door speakers will still sound a little crappy, but you can probably live with them until you get more money.

if you have the bose system you can install just a head unit w/out doing your door speakers. u have 2 options, get a wiring harness that will use the radio's high level speaker outputs to run your door speakers, doing so will make the speaker get real loud real quick, like sometimes wen ppl do this they get their radio up only a quarter of the way and the speakers r screaming loud.but this rout will make u have to gain up your amp for subs more because the low volume your radio is turned up to wont be sending the stronger signal to the subs.

option 2 is to get a radio that has rcv outputs for front, rear, and sub,and getting a viring harness that uses the head units rca outs to run the speakers, this is what i did b4 i changed my door speakers nd use an amp 2 run them. this rout however will make u have to turn your radio almost all the way up to get volume to the speakers, and alot of times it not enough sound, leaving you yearning for more, and the sound will get drowned out by bass because the radio is tunred all the way up trying to get sound from the speakers, but it is sending full power toyour subs.

so basically pwnin is right, best rout for the pathy with the bose system is to do headunit, speakers, sub, and amps. but if money is the issue then u can do a lil at a time, but u will always be wanting more.

a sugestion to, alpine type S 12's should run you around 150 a piece, put them in a PORTEDboxfor the pathy, the ported box will get you the sound you like way more than a sealer box would, find a reputable car audio dealer near you so they can get u a ported box that fits the requirements that the subs want for a box. anyway, i did this exact combo amp/subs in my buddys tahoe and its deff the best bang 4 the buk bass u can get. 2 alpine type S 12's, dual 4 ohm voice coils, model number is alpine SWS-1243D,combine that with the alpine MRP-M500mono amp and u have a dam good system for around 6 hundred buks, 150 each for the subs, 200 for the amp, and around 100 for a box maybe more. its a good chunk a change, but u want quality u buy quality.

man white pathys look great with the tints, nice choice. Not sure if youve ever seen it but theres a pic of a white one like yours on here somewhere with 30" donks it looks crazy

if you want 18s and mud get the best of both worlds, throw some mud tires on the 18s you should be able to fit it and itd look great. We have big wheelwells, i have 20's on 45 series tires and they dont fill out the radius, but they are wide and rub inside if i turn at full lock. 18s with lo pros wont work, dont do it.

Audio stuff.....craigslist. if you wanna save $$$ and are smart youll save a ton.

heres my "mods" from what I can remember

-2 10" clarions in a sealed box, 1400W Boss audio amp ....$140 on craigslist, still work great 1.5 years later-Pioneer AVIC-U310BT headunit...nav/ipod/removeable screen/bluetooth, MSRP in canada is $700 i got it for $450 shipped from ebay-20" Boss wheels with falken 265/45/20 tires, near new tread for $900 on craigslist/kijiji, never had a problem all summer rims are near new-complete LED overhaul.....white maplights, dome lights, blue dash, transmission shifter, 4wd switch, heater control, cigg lighter ring, security light, its all blued out including my once green climate control display and temp display, all blue. -painted the rear brake drums black to not show through my rims,-"euro" tail lights that have a good amount of tint-tinted front turn signals-$40 mesh grille (ebay)-HIDs --oval exhaust tip - $20-20% tints all around

probly missing some stuff, but i did ALL this in college with $400/month insurance payments. now my insurance dropped and im working full time and plan on restoring the q, like paint, exhaust, missing interior pieces, basically make it as if its rolling off the showroom floor, because i have nothing else I can do/want to do to it! BTW the bose speakers are fine with subs, but i recommend insulating their housings, the speakers arent isolated very well from the door metal. I may even dynamat this year.

Pwnin, I did a double take when I first saw an XE. The wheels are not two tone (look alot better in my opinion) and the center caps arent chrome. Extremely plain looking without the fender flares. I have only seen 2 or 3. Dont remember ever seeing one on the lot when I purchased mine new.

this is what i got

Aftermarket Bush guard (its real heavy duty stuff.... havent seen any other pathys around with one as big as mine... no bumper tag here)

Blacked out black housing Altezza tail lights,

Blacked housing Headlights in the mail coming my way (will have 2 coats of night shade on it once i get it)

PATHFINDER third brake light sticker

IXA W404 Alpine double din deck with 12" Type R sub powered by a 1k mono alpine amp backed up with coaxial type r speakers in the front and type x component in the back

Blue led foot wells in the front with and dome/map lights (it hurts the eyes if you star at the glowing black leather after a while), Cluster has been changed to blue as well (slickroger put up a nice LED supplier, absolutely love their product and customer service :: autolumination.com)

Fun Fact :: just bought like $166.40 worth of leds off them XD including switch back signal lights (2 colours in one bulb) Blue LED windshield washers just lil funny stuff (yes i know im asian im treating it almost like a civic haha)

after all those are done,

Ill be ordering K&N Filter, Getting an Exhaust done (after my passenger Cat is in and replaced)

As for my wheels, Im most likely going to keep stock and painted black, previous owner liked driving against the curb so the rashes need to be repaired before that happens....

HID 8k will be going in once the shipment arrives at the local shop and once my head light housing is in place.

5 piece billet grille

Golly the list goes on... oh yeah... and after market tint....

and then a a month or 2 in paying off the bill ive racked up.....

THEN (sorry im getting excited and its boring at work) a custom fit box (for 2 12") that will be mounted on the passenger side of the cargo area for the sub which is currently sitting in a single ported box....

FYI

Im going all black and white on this car... taking all the emblems and stuff off and painted black... or off completely i havent decided yet...

im going to stop right here before i blow a vessel.....

The emblems on the rear door have pins which go through the rear door body metal. Once you remove the emblems it will leave two holes for each emblem (except for the SE/LE emblem which have to pins and can be removed without leaving holes). I removed all of my emblems and painted them, mine are painted a metallic graphite. The front emblem is the easiest to remove since it is just screwed onto the grille. The rear emblems are 3M double-sided adhesive'd (I just made that word up) to the rear door and will take some coaxing to remove. I just ended up replacing the rear emblems since mine broke when I removed them.

I had the same problem. I had to remove the entire license plate lamp assembly to drill out the rusted screws. To do that you have to remove the interior panel (remove the two screws on the interior handle and the rest is just panel clips all around the perimeter of the door) and then inside the door you will see the three bolts which hold the license plate lamp assembly to the door. Just remove the three bolts and unplug the wiring harness and you can remove the whole thing and work on it on a bench. I replaced the screws with some stainless steel ones so I never have to worry about them again.

End of thread jack.
