This is all just research for now...
If I have a custom y-pipe and no Cats (Ragingline y-pipe & cutting out cats), I know that the O2 sensor will trigger my CEL...my question is, has anyone out there ever tuned out the sensors in an Altima? I figure if I go to a shop and get a custom tune this would be possible, but I was really looking to go with a piggyback tuner for now (something like a BullyDog or Apexi). I live in Florida so I am not super concered with an inspection.

Yeah, UpRev will delete the codes completely. But like you say, you're in FL so no issue. :P

I looked into UpRev a little, but it left me with more questions...with an UpRev tune do they just send me prepackaged maps based on my bolt-on's or would I actually go in and have it Dyno tuned by one of their techs?

You can do either I believe, the first is an e-tune but to get the best output I would say it would be good to find a an UpRev shop to do the tuning.

What kinda tuning did you go with?

EDIT:
Nevermind, I stalked you a little and see you went with the bullydog. How is that working out for you? I was really interested in the BD and found one for sale locally for $300, I almost pulled the trigger but took a trip back home instead. Is that the only tune you've used with your turbo? For some reason, I just figured bullydog would have some prepackaged very basic maps for us Alti's, did they do something custom for you? (after this y-pipe I am going to start with fuel system and Cams, so I don't want to buy a BD and then find out I need the UpRev later) Most importantly can you delete the codes for the O2 sensors/CEL codes (I wouldn't like seeing CEL on everytime I start the car). I would really prefer a handheld unit in the car with some performance info on it, rather than having to tote a laptop around screaming "Danger to Manifold"...
If you stalk me a little you'll see I am pretty much a noob to the import world (got a little more experience with Jeeps), so hopefully you have patience and I am not missing some sticky that answers all my questions.

EDIT 2:
I saw a youtube video of a Z with the UpRev and they guy was changing between different maps with the cruise control buttons...That is cool and all, but I basically want different maps like that with a stand alone tuner like the bully dog.

I only use the BD to display my RPM, temperatures, speed, etc. I stopped using it when I got my turbo setup. I have an UpRev tune now. As for the BD running on your vehicle, yes, I would recommend it if you aren't going to get too hardcore. It's a great product to have even if it's only for the display purposes although they have a cheaper version that does only that. You'll get a power increase out of it but you won't be able to delete codes like UpRev can.

haha, np man. :)

In response to your 2nd edit, yes, they can give you up to 3 tunes I believe that you control via the cruise control button.

As far as a hand held way to do it, if I remember correctly UpRev was in the process of making an app so you could have it on your iPad or iPhone. Unsure if they were doing anything for Android though.

I am one of those Apple fanboys anyways so iPhone app is perfect. I contacted UpRev to see about handheld units, maybe they can update me on the progress of an App...

Cool, that would be great if they did put one out.

On another topic, just FYI that I'm compiling a list of us MT guys in hopes that I might be able to persuade a company like SPEC, ACT or Jim Wolf Technology to make an aftermarket clutch and flywheel combo for us.

The more interested parties the better!

I would be interested. Can't commit to a buy right now, but later down the road I would. Have you looked into Stillen? They've already got a handful of mods for the Alti's and might be more willing. JWT also has the CAMs for us, so they would prolly be a good back up

I saw on a another post you were looking at picking up the BOSE Navigation. Were you still looking into that?

I might be interested for a steep discount. I am heading more towards performance mods right now though...

So do you lose cruise control by doing this? If you are trying to set your cruise are you actually changing your tune setting instead?

i have the up rev, with the changeable maps and you don't lose your cruise control. To change the maps you have to hold down the set your speed switch and touch cancel 1 or 2 or 3 times to set the map that you want. Cruise control will still work fine. The maps i have are a custom up rev tuned by a shop, the stock up rev tune and valet lock which stops the car from going over 15mph and over 200 rpm. Hope this helps
