lol, the list of things for me to do is a mile long and getting longer. This doesn't even show up as a blip on the radar for me. Def not worth the time to me. (You gave your opinion, so I gave mine.)

ya, im going to black mine out eventually. I think getting rid of the amber and matching everything will be better then blacking it out before doing so.... I wonder if they have silver transparent paint.... here come clear corners!

Just be sure to paint not only the outside, but the inside of the covers as well. That means...

You have to take them off.

Until the paint gets chipped, or starts peeling.

They look pretty good red, but I have to say, from my experience with building models, you are going to have to clean those off and try again. Testors paint SUCKS!

I'd use the spray that is used for making stained glass, also available at Hobby Lobby. It's a lot better paint, and it actually dries, unlike testors which seems to stay perpetually sticky.

Definitely clear coat, but before you spray it on that testors paint, spray something else with the testors, and then cover it with the clear to see how the paints will react with each other. Testors is (in most cases) enamel and most clears are lacquer based. Lacquer will eat the enamel for breakfast, and then you'll be stuck with crappy looking lenses FOREVER!

agreed. I used to use testors on model cars and rockets, when left out in the sun they start to liquify and run down.

They seem to be good so far, no flaking after a car wash, and being out in the sun...

Paint the inside of the lenses to eliminate the amber look.

That's why I suggested to take the lenses off. That way, you won't have to do unnecessary multiple coats.
