Not exactly my style. I really like one of the members custom MOMO steering wheel for his Y33... had the airbag and everything..

I wish they made it for the G50...

Not bad... the $15 leather steering cover from Wal-Mart will suffice for me. :) The grip is huge, and precise. Unfortunately its cheap leather, and although it feels great, it makes my hands smell like theyve been somewhere inappropriate.

I agree with Jesda.

My steering wheel was all screwed up, and I got the $6 walmart special, it looks great, it feels great, and lasted me a year. I am a happy camper.....

I tried installing the $6 cover, identical to the one you have. The damn thing just wasnt big enough, and I ripped it during install.

Did you have to grease up your steering wheel or something?

No, it was a PITA to get on..... What I ended up doing was getting it on there halway, and putting a screwdriver in there and kept rolling it so it fused on there. Its not coming off until it rips!!!

One word: WheelSkins.

I like the two-tone, and I put one on my other car... But FIRST I cut a length of tubing to fit the diameter of the wheel, and THEN laced the wheelskin (wet) over it. (The water makes it stretch.)

Once it dried and shrank, it was indistinguishable from a factory wheel, except that the wheel rim was MUCH thicker - Very cool. :)

I am definetely not going the walmart option. I won't say any more on this..

I would desperately like a thicker leather steering wrap though... I don't want some cheap non oem looking crap leather one..

Greg, your option sounds nice.. where do you get it.. how much is it etc?

Search google - WheelSkins. Think I paid $35.

PITA to install, but patience and planning are key - as is an air-conditioned garage, which i now have (as of this past weekend!)

Good quality leather, lots of places carry them. Local dealer may have samples so you can check the color.

I love the wheel skin I put on my 84' 300ZX, paid a shop to put it on, they got it on way tigher than I could ever have done, only charged me like 20 bucks.

There is a company here in the Dallas area that re-covers steering wheels. They can also put wood inserts on the wheel to match the factory or aftermarket wood kits.

http://www.american-stitches.c....html

I haven't contacted them yet, so I have no idea as to how much they would charge. But, one thing I can say is that their work looks top notch.

Not a bad idea as well.

Need a spare wheel though.

What was the length of tubing for? And do you mean like inner tubing? Can you post pics? My steering wheel is a little rough and I'd like to do something about it.

The length of tubing was cut lengthwise and fit onto the wheel to provide some thickness.

Had to experiment a few times to get the seam PERFECT, so I bought like 50 feet (yeah, shut up).

Tubing was like clear polyethylene tubing, like you'd use for an aquarium vac. Home Depot sells it. You want to experiment with various thicknesses to get the "feel" you want.
