I purchased a set of Verde rims for my 2007 Infiniti M35X. I was informed that the wheels including the TPMS would fit with no problem. I had the original tires removed and placed on the new Verde's. The tire tech informed me that the TPMS values would not work because there was a little play where the rubber grommet contacted the rim. Then he showed me how snug the TPMS valve fit in the stock rim. I know some of you have replaced the orignial rims and used the TPMS valve did you replace the grommet or tighten down the nut for the valve? Did your wheels leak air? (I had regular tire valves put in)

I was going to post a picture of the wheels but I don't see how I would upload the picture

I took mine out. There are a lot of arguments about how accurate the TPMS can be. The best thing to do is get a good hand held unit and check your air every few days or so.

As for the pics, you will need to find a web based site to host the pics on and then post them here. What color is your car?

Here is quick fix for those with aftermarket rims with no TPMS. You can simply drill and mount the TPMS on the inside of the rim opposite to the valve stem. I did this with my Rays Lexion Type 203. I have included a few pics. Let me know if you need more info.

Now that is an excellent idea! As long as the seal for it is good, it should work out very nicely.

Thanks for the pictures!

P.S. I would still recommend a quality tire pressure gauge and a weekly check and pump up (tire cold, in the garage, early morning, before you drive it one inch, before the sun gets a chance to warm the tire, etc.)

WHY oh why would you drill holes into your riims to do that??? Why not just do it the right way, you have to take the wheels off anyway.

There is a little orange flat tire symbol on the left side of the dash that blinks when I start the car and then stays lit after a few moments when I have my winter tires on w/o the TPMS.

Question: I have the OEM wheels back on the car and now I only get tire pressure readings on the two right tires, neither left tire is showing a reading. Is there something special I need to do to get them working again?

It is just for the TPMS sensors - you do not need to continually access this connector. The tire still has another place on the outside (original location on the rim) to do the actual air filling, etc.

It should actually reset within 50 miles or so, if not there is a problem.
