Custom Magnaflow Exhaust clip

OK, I finally got the video camera nd the Q45 in the same place at the same time. I made 3 videos. The first one, is parked, with John standing behind the car, similar to the stock exhasut clip, so you can hear the difference.

A girl, joggging by dropped her panties . we tried to get that on video, but the camera jammed. You will just have to live with the car video.

And finally, here is the interior resonance in normal city driving.

Not too bad, kinda like the Vette. There is a little more resonance at 1500 RPM than I wanted. I may replace the resonators, if I get tired of it.

The sounds clips just don't do it justice .

I think it sounds alot like the Q I bought from Rob, and video does not do the redline run justice, you have to feel it.

BTW, your car has now officially lost it's sleeper look/sound status with the wheels and exhaust.

Too bad Infiniti never made a sport version G50 (with a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission, hint hint) that would've destroyed the BMW 540 and M5.

I'm off to the exhaust shop to see if they can bend some 2.25" for me.

Jeff - what resonator were you looking at swapping the current one with?

Yea and with your average American that won't drive stick, they probably would have only sold 2. I don't think I'd like the Q in stick either, and I like stick shift cars better. Too bad a 5 speed auto wasn't the norm back in 1990.

Did you mean "Down"? Because I had the windows up and the A/C on. It is Alabama in June, you know.

I have not decided which one I might change to. It would have to fit int the current resonator spot. If I change it, I will let you guys know.

Hey Jeff....that is a great sounding system and as Rex said, it reminds him of another Q. Especially that WOT run reminded me a lot of my old Q. I am finally going to get my vette back late next week after being in the shop for 7+months (long story) and it is off to the same exhaust shop that did my old Q the following week. I spoke with the shop and we are going with the exact same setup on my old Q onto the 69 vette being all 2.5" mandrell bent magnaflow straight through with X-pipe but this time stainless steel. It will remind me much of the Q for which I and others really like the sound of the system. I always got a ton of compliments on it and liked how it was quiet as stock cruising with cruise control on, but when you hammer the throttle a big can of whip a$$ is let loose.

Not too loud, or at least I couldn't identify the resonance.

I have to admit for the same power, I love the stealth mode where the punk cars are wondering where the hell I came from as I blow by. The look of shock on theier faces is priceless.

And the quiet (best in 1995) is golden when music is on or I am on the phone. Very difficult for me to compromise the quietness without a substantial return in performance, which is not to be had.

jeff i cant believe how loud that is even in the car... It doesnt seem as if its terribly annoying... Id be intersetd to hear it with music going... Hell, i think the only way to solve this is for you to come up here so we can race!! Mine is a LOT quieter than that, probably about the same as yours in the cabin with the windows DOWN.

I think im going to get an X pipe put in and see how that changed things...
