So I called up Advanced Automotive Concepts today wondering if they had any ideas or plans for the a/c. I told them that there is a big market out there for the coupe. They said if they had some1 send in there lights, they could do it. So here is the info:

1) Unfortuanatly, whoever sends there headlights in, doesnt get it for free.2) The kit costs 199 for parts and 199 for labor = $3983) Turn around time is 2-3 days!!

LBC EDIT -Group Buy Info!!! THIS IS TO BE POSTED BY MODS ONLY AFTER A MEMBER CLEARS THE GB!

Heres the website: http://www.automotivelightstor...&ID=1If you call, ask for tiffanie.

They would have to be a Nico sponsor (IIRC) ...

paying for a prototype is

the turnaround time isn't bad, but again, paying for a prototype is full on

wooooooah fellas.. i emailed them, i will post official info when they reply.

Group buys can only be setup by Mods, and they must follow the rules like everyone else does.

I will let you know what happens.

Paying for prototypes is 100% bunk IMHO, especially since we have 99,000 members lol.

btw if these guys are for real, and the mods give us the blessing if we have 26 people at least then what we as a community could do is everyone pay 129.73 to for the mod. I doubt we could get 26 people to agree to this. Also what does that 119$ or 400$ parts and labour include??

The way they explain it is you would ship them your lights and open the housing. The 400 or gb price of 119 would include labor and the "kit" which im not exactly sure what it includes.

Its $315 they want for it in a GB (if they were to set one up after nico sponsorship) this is based on the OP's "theoretical" pricing. They are giving a discount on the KIT, not on the labor...

199+115=$314

Wow when i talked to them I didn't get the same response. They are only an hour from here... Actually I'm heading to New Orleans in a few minutes to take a test for my MCTS. maybe I'll make a stop at the shop and see.

OOOOO...my bad guys. I didnt know the discount was jus on the kit. thats not really a big discount but i guess every penny counts. I would still like to see what they can do for our cars. LBC, did they give you any info on if the prototype is free or not? I would happily volunteer if I didnt have to shed out 400 for somthing i may not like.

Just hang tight.. these things dont happen fast.

I emailed them, im waiting for a reply, i sent them site stats and stuff to gain their interest in NICO..

After they respond, i will be able to ask them the "usual suspects" of questions..

paint-led-cleared-double projectors etc...

Yeah I do not think they are making a headlight kit, you gotta ship your headlights out to them and they will mod it.

the only way i would ever pay for a prototype is if i took some sort of money back from future sales cuz then its kind of an investment on my part. otherwise i expect to be reimbursed in some way cuz they will profit from me. maybe if i was extremely desperate i'd give it a shot. at like a 75% discount.

but is it really a "prototype"? I thought those companies that charge arm/leg for labor is because they do each headlights individually? I may be wrong, but those lights in the gallery sure look sexay~

remember guys, this is the same thing the lst two companies said... until they got the headlights, and almost melted them trying to get them open, only to realize that the silicone is different on these headlights and they can't do em the way they normally do...

be very cautious of getting everyone's hopes up all over again!!!!!!!

my whole headlight adventure has a few key points...

1) see what can and cant be done and share the experience with the collective....i am borg after all..lol

2) how can what i do be simplified for the DIY'r

3) what techniques work the best to accomplish objective.

4) what should be considered a waste of time for effort.

5) to have the ONLY "r8" headlight for the alti coupe in known exsistence..a true custom one of a kind...That is until one of you cats get the bake/ breakdown process right!

the angel eyes and projectors are secondary....cause im not sure if i want them persay....but...since i have the light open and i can poke around...why not see what works....i do believe fully the angels can not be the DIY plexi tube angel eye someone posted here...but may need to be the ccfl type. it'll be to hot for the plexi one...but believe me...you guys will know what it looks like....SOON...as in ...i am sizing and fabricating!...

I Called AAC today they are only doing the halo kit. I was 10 minutes from the shop. Decided not to go by there since they want $300 to be their test dummy... (I passed my exam btw. I now am a MCP! MCTS comes later this month when i take my next exam.)
