Hey whats up guys i would usauly ask the sr20 guys because thats where i belong but i know you guys do more stuff on your own than sr20 guys. Well im work on getting my fmic in.

Most important question is do you guys usually stick your intercooler between you core support and you condenser?I defintley want to keep my bumper support for safety.I would like it there but i dont know if my intercooler will be effiecient enough. the intercooler 30X8 overall

WHat are you guys using for intercooler pipes?

is there in advantage on getting madrel bends over welding the whole damn thing together?

would you say the ebay universal pipes or the greddy intercooler pipes are fine?

my IC barely fit in front of the bumper support. for piping, i just bought a few mandrel bent pipes from JCWhitney and cut and welded them how i wanted. i did all my IC piping for like $40.

My IC is sitting behind my bumper support and in front of the radiator (no AC condensor- I ripped that crap out ). I had to notch out those angled supports just a little bit (about 3/4") so the IC would sit in there flat and not butt up against the bumper support near the top. It's mounted with 2 flat aluminum plates welded to the bottom of the IC and bolted into where the LCAs go-- the top is also bolted in right in the center where the ambient air temperature sensor was. I'll see if I can find some pics.

IC piping I went with aluminum. Basically got a bunch of 90 degree mandrel bends and cut them up to fit where they need to go. Cut holes in the body at the battery plate thing for the cold pipe and right where the airbox used to be on the hot side. Aluminum looks a lot better and its lighter as well, but its also a softer metal and more expensive (both to buy and get welded). Mild steel (aluminised or even stainless) is significantly cheaper but then again unless it's stainless, you're going to have to pay to powdercoat/paint or whatever it because the bare metal will rust very quickly.

I dont know what universal pipes you're talking about on ebay, but I doubt they'll work. I cant imagine ANY pipe would be truly "universal" unless you're really willing to chop away at your car to get things to fit. Custom isnt THAT expensive (well, aluminum is: $30 per 90 degree bend adds up...)... I wouldnt waste my time with trying to make a supposedly universal kit fit unless you've SEEN it work on someone else's car.

Hope this helps!
